Every year, LunarFest is happy to invite Miss Chinese Vancouver to celebrate the Lunar New Year like no other. The Champion of Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant 2021, Cindy Wu, is an artist and architectural designer. For this year’s LunarFest, inspired by the theme “Together, Stronger,” she has created an artwork called “Coexistence.”

Miss Chinese Vancouver 2021 Cindy Wu is an artist and architectural designer currently working as an art & design teacher. Graduated from the Master program of Interior Design at the Royal College of Art, she also holds a fashion design & photography Bachelor’s Degree at the New York Parsons School of Design. Cindy was born in Guangzhou, China and immigrated to Vancouver at the age of 11 and has great passion in dancing, singing, sport fishing and volunteering. Apart from winning multiple awards from worldwide competitions, Cindy has once auctioned off her drawing to raise funds for water resources and reconstruction projects in Africa. Cindy’s painting and design incorporates traditional Chinese elements and Western geometric contours to demonstrate the unique multicultural aspects of Canada. Cindy’s dream is to establish a fashion and interior design company that develops sustainable materials to make Vancouver greener.
Art is a language that does not have boundaries and Cindy believes that art can bring people closer, and together we will be stronger. Not only is Cindy a designer and artist, in the future, she also wants to be part of the filming industry to deliver positive messages to the community.
Coexistence
The name of Cindy Wu’s art piece is called: Coexistence. Her abstract drawing symbolizes all of us holding hands with Mother Earth for a green future and coexistence in harmony.
Fluent in English, French and Mandarin, 1st Runner-up of Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant 2021 Yasmine Ross was born in Montreal and moved to China at a very young age. She returned to Canada five years ago and attended the University of British Columbia, earning a degree in Film Production. Yasmine is an artiste who is involved in acting, filmmaking, painting and music. She strives to promote harmony among people from different cultures, has a desire to bring everybody together through art and make the world a less lonely place.
